Haircuts and Healthcare

It may seem strange that so many hospitals and medical office buildings could be mostly deserted and yet a virus could still be a serious threat. But elective medical care is on hold for the exact same reason that haircuts are on hold. People who provide close and intimate care for many members of the public are not only in the greatest danger of becoming infected (taking that risk would be their right and their choice), but they also pose the greatest danger of becoming super-spreaders who can infect dozens and--ultimately--hundreds or thousands of people (risking others would be neither their right, nor their choice). Even in areas where the disease breaks out in large numbers, the greatest demand for healthcare will be in specialized COVID units from caregivers who are skilled in caring for people seriously ill with infectious diseases. Some caregivers from other areas will called upon to assist specialists, but many caregivers will not have work even when specialized units are being overwhelmed.
The help of electrical engineers is not needed when bridges collapse.

Throughout Christian history, from Leviticus 13 through the Christian nations of Europe into colonial American times and beyond, governments have had to restrain some people from endangering other people.

stumbling blocks but keep your parapets high.

Stay safe. Keep others safe.
